How to be recognised as a courteous business

All you have to do is:

• Register opposite
• Post your support for our ‘commitment to courtesy‘
• Provide independent evidence of courteous behaviour. This could be three letters from customers, entries in your visitors’ book, independent reviews on a web site or any other evidence you think suitable. You can email copies, post them to us or ask us to pop in and witness them.

Alternatively, a customer or member of the public could nominate you. We’ve already received one nomination before the initiative launched.

You’ll receive a certificate, window sticker, web logo and a listing on our Ilfracombe courteous business page.

But I don’t have any evidence

Are you giving customers or anyone else the opportunity to give feedback?

If not, why not?

• Buy a visitors’ book
• Ask someone complimenting your business if they would put it in writing
• You could even record or video them

Good comments from people can really lift your spirits. That’s what courtesy is about.
